The Science
Players of all ages and skill levels are not learning the proper fundamentals when it comes to shooting a basketball.
Most of the players share common shooting issues:
- 'flicking' their hand to the side
- 'pinching' the fingers together
- 'shot-put' or 'saluting' the ball
- poor or no ball rotation
- shooting with two hands
Until now...1,000's of hours of individual attention from some of the few exceptional coaches in America were required to teach a player the right way to shoot a basketball.
That is why you see so few amazing shooters in the game. Athletes such as JJ Redick were fortunate to receive untold hours of dedication and work from a great coach to teach them the right way to shoot the ball.
These opportunities are not common however, and young players end up struggling for years with little success and eventually just stop playing. Coaches and parents also get frustrated wondering why the kids can't seem to be able to figure it out and eventually stop trying fix it.
